Hi Craigslist,
I’ve got a clean title charcoal exterior / black interior 1988 Mustang GT, I’m willing to offer up for sale. This car is great for someone that needs a fun daily driver or second vehicle. I’ve had the car for a few years and have consistently upgraded it’s interior, exterior, and efficiency. I honestly never planned on selling her as I always wanted a Charcoal on Black Mustang GT fox body and figured I’d slowly make her into a perfect, fun and useful daily driver, but life has made her sale necessary. She is a perfect base for just about any daily or monster track project, as her Carfax is clean of any issues and her condition reflects that.
Details:
1988 Mustang GT
5 speed manual transmission
vin# 1fabp42e1jf253305
approximately 168k miles on the chassis
The previous owner installed a new engine long block with a new clutch kit and Flowmaster mufflers.

Other than that it has a completely stock drivetrain. All the original A/C parts are present but I never got around to changing the seals for R134 and refilling the system.

This a true California car for its entire life has zero rust, in addition to never being wrecked, beaten up and cut up with other’s unplanned half done modifications. It’s a blank canvass, which is why I originally purchased it, and remains that way for the next owner. I wanted to do tasteful modifications to increase its stability and efficiency before trying to increase the power and engine performance, which tends to be where most people start when they get a Mustang.

I installed weld-in through-floor subframe connectors to stiffen the chassis. And at the same time overhauled the interior with new front and rear seat foam, cloth / vinyl OEM seats, a new headliner, and carpet.

I continued the work with a completely new fuel system including Walbro 255lph fuel pump, 19# stock fuel injectors, ECT sensor, Motorcraft fuel filter, and Holley OEM style adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I cleaned the MAF meter, checked and adjusted the timing within stock specs, installed new spark plugs and wires, MSD coil, and an upper intake spacer at the same time for better intake air temperatures, and fuel economy.

I installed an alarm system, with hood sensor, starter kill, keyless entry and trunk/hatch pop option. At the same time I installed a double din bluetooth touchscreen stereo and wiring for an amplifier installation but never got around to designing a sub system for it.

I then painted the car in a slightly darker than the original charcoal color and painted all the trim in a semigloss black for a ‘shadow trim’ look, which turned out great.

I then went through the brake system and rebuilt the front and rear brakes. The next project on my list was to go through the suspension. I have replaced the shocks and struts, added lowering springs, caster / camber plates, but still need a larger front and rear sway bars.

I have a folder of receipts and a box of brand new weather stripping. This is not a perfect Mustang and she has some imperfections by being an incredibly reliable daily-driver. I find it difficult to finish this ad as I remember all the work that has gone into making her what she is today and how much I enjoy owning this Mustang. I hope the next owner will care for her and continue where I left off.

Thanks for looking
